the amalgamation or attempted amalgamation of different religions, cultures, or schools of thought.Use over time:
Who needs it?
Populations lacking religious diversity and / or tolerance of religious diversity need syncretists to push them out of their delusive bubbles.
Americans are just now beginning to wake from a long slumber. So, it is okay, and it was to be expected. But, now that it’s over, now that we’re waking up, I’m thinking we gotta move beyond the whole “everything is truth” stance. In addition to being accepting and tolerant, we must also be discerning.
Religious tolerance, tolerance of difference / diversity, is a great thing– but do we need these syncretists running around pretending every religious assertion is equally true? Nah. We don’t.
If they are equally true, they are also equally untrue.
Syncretism (/ˈsɪŋkrətɪzəm/) is the combining of different beliefs, while blending practices of various schools of thought. Syncretism involves the merging or assimilation of several originally discrete traditions, especially in the theology and mythology of religion, thus asserting an underlying unity and allowing for an inclusive approach to other faiths.
You get the idea?
There is a lot of dumb shit that is revered, or ‘off-limits’, because it is a ‘religious thing’. Like circumcision. What a ridiculous thing. Many religions assert a bunch of dumb shit and require a bunch of crazy shit from adherents.
“Religions are Equally True”
Syncretists will say that “there is truth in all religious assertions”. Or, they’ll go further and say that “all religious assertions are true”.
I’ll say that “there are lies to be found in the doctrines of all religions”. And, I’ll go even further and say that “all religious assertions are equally untrue, founded on lies”.
The way that can be known is not the True Way.
If it has been brought down to the limitation of words and notions, it is not GnoTruth. Gnosis is beyond, beyond, further beyond, completely and perfectly beyond, and there we can celebrate awakening.
You who have learned to think with your hearts, beneath and beyond your heads, you are not looking for any “deeper truth” or “other reality” and therefore all religious assertions are meaningless to you.
You will Gno The Kingdom is found “here” when you let go of petty notions born of tiny perception of a tiny percentage of the electromagnetic spectrum.
